Don’t Assume Unless It is Given

religion-moses-10_commandments-honor_systems-honour_systems-assumes-rman14301lProbably, this is one of the learning of my life that I can not and I will never forget.

“Don’t assume unless it is given.”

In the field of work, we are given so much responsibilities, some are our wants and interests and some are just given to us as an assign-ment. There are some responsibilities in the workforce that sometimes we feel that we really want to handle and with our initiativeness, we take the full responsibility to handle those. But the thing is, when time that responsibilities are to be given  to proper person, you are not that one. You are not included in the list of the capable people to whom the responsibilities are to be entrusted.

Ignatian Spirituality

When I entered the portals of Nazareth School, I was amazed by the simplicity of life and lifestyle of the sisters who run the school, their austerity of life caught my attention to questioning and discovering what kind of spirituality they have. I graduated from a Dominican School (Siena College QC) assuming that I have also absorbed at least a dominican spirituality because the sisters who helped me in my formation days and years were Dominicans.

Things have changed when I encounter the Ignatian Spirituality through the Hijas de Jesus Sisters. I was really interested back then when I first enter the school, on what and how to practice the spirituality of the Ignatian which was the spirituality that Saint candida, their foundress have adopted and practiced during her time. I didn’t delve my self into studies about the Ignatian spirituality but I have learned to practiced it through making contact to those people who carries the spirituality.

The style of the Spirituality is very different from my previous one. I have not lost the first nor I reject the new one. I want them both.

What Is Ignatian Spirituality?

Trust your Self

Trust YourselfNo one will ever trust you in this world unless you trust yourself first. God gave us the gift of Faith in which a virtue where trust springs up. Trust is as just one of the dimensions of faith we need to exercise our lives. And this trust and first to be given to its receiver and benefactor, e.i., the self. It’s just so simple that what you don’t have you can not give it to others.

Trust is a gift, therefore, we have not asked it, it was given to us freely by the one who created us maybe because it’s part of us being created in the image and likeness of God. God was so good that He lets us be a part of him. He gave us a image that was patterned to His. Let us learn to use this gift for our own benefit. God gave everything for our own good.

Trust yourself. Learn to have that capacity to yield in into your being. You are capable of doing good for self and most of all for others. Learn that trust is rooted in our capacity to believe in our selves, in what we can do, in what we know and able to know. God revealed to us that by trusting our self we are also trusting the gifts God gave us and ultimately, Trusting God who gave us the gift. Putting our trust to proper being may mean giving our self the best option of Life.

Every little gifts are not little when they are used for the greater Glory of God.
