“If I were a boy”- A Song Analysis

Often times I hear this song being played in the radio or shuffling in my playlist but for now I want to share my opinion and comments about this beautiful song. Sometimes, the lyrics are often taken for granted. The Lyrics are very good eye opener on how men and women view relationship. What do each other want from a relationship? How do each other behave to fulfill each others’ needs?

I want to go on with the lyrics.

Comments: The first part was sang by Beyonce. I think she’s expressing acts that she would do if she will be given chance or a day to be a boy. She thinks that boys do whatever they wanted to do. Girls think that boys are insensitive so they think that if they could be man for a day they would do better. but what girls don’t understand is that man aren’t insensitive, man are so sensitive. But wait! A big wait a minute! For a minute let me explain the point.

Girls think that men are insensitive because men aren’t meeting what girls want. Girls want to be listened with. They do much talking and explaining things which men find it uninteresting. For men, One word is enough. Too much of it is boring. But the thing is, If men do not want to lose their girls, they need to listen that is why the first demand of the song is to listen to her. When she is not listened she feels she is taken for granted.

Comments: There is one thing men want from their girls, that is trust. Girls, don’t be so suspicious. The very reason men leave is that they feel they are not being trusted. It is a need for a man to be trusted. Men, sometimes, are really not open in expressing things like women do. Work is man’s pride. Don’t belittle a man when he is working. If you do that he feels that he has no worth at all and you are putting his self-esteem that way. So as long as a man works for you and give you everything and be with you at home. He is in love with you. But sometimes, they are stuff that men really do. If women go shopping, men go to bar.

Comments: Women are really into commitment. Women are tend to be faithful so as men do. Both are faithful, but faithfulness are expressed in their own genre.

Comments: Both aren’t perfect, but if you only study how men and women are to relate with opposite sex. You will understand that man and woman are really made perfect for each other.

Comments: That’s it. We are just who we are. We should learn to understand and love each others’ limitations and weaknesses. It is their that our love for each other are put to test. Love is made perfect through trials. Be strong for each other. Never for something you don’t understand yet.
